August 31, 200960 days of daily resistance to the coup in Honduras. That, says Al Giordano, the publisher of Narco News, is the real story that’s largely been overlooked in coverage of Honduras. It’s not about Zelaya and Micheletti or whether the international community will act, but the fact that broad based resistance has emerged that will outlive whoever ends up in power.A Media Blackout in Honduras
August 5, 2009News from Honduras has been in short supply even though the standoff between ousted leader Manuel Zelaya and Roberto Micheletti continues. July 20, 2009Will natural gas solve our energy problems? The oil and gas industry has been making their case that natural gas is a clean alternative to fossil fuels, that it will reduce our dependency on foreign oil, and create jobs. What the industry doesn’t mention is the highly controversial practice required to extract the oil known as hydraulic fracturing. Josh Fox and others on the other side of the story. Roberto Lovato and Andres Thomas Conteris on political turmoil in Honduras and why the US isn't doing more to resolve the standoff. And the Spirit of Humanity in Gaza.Eva Golinger: What Does the US Want in Honduras?
July 9, 2009Since Honduran president Manuel Zelaya was forcibly removed from power in a military coup, the US media have made the argument that the deposed leader was engineering plans to change the constitution in order to stay in power. At least that's how Charles Krauthammer characterized it recently on Fox news, without failing to compare Hugo Chavez to Hitler.
