Lizz Winstead: The Candidate Said What?
October 6, 2010Election 2010: it just keeps getting weirder. Now that the primaries are mostly over, a motley crew of Tea Partiers and abstinenceaholics are taking aim at Congress, and some of what they have to say is hilarious--or would be, if these weren't the nominees of one of the two major parties in the U.S., and the other party hadn't managed to alienate a good chunk of its base.Lizz Winstead, and Ben Jealous at One Nation

September 28, 2010Sarah Palin has declared that the "mama Grizzlies" are taking over the Republican party, and newspapers have seized on the meme of Republican women as if they're an undiscovered species. September 16, 2010"Where are we, where is the passion, where is the organizing when millions of people are in deep pain and fear over the economic collapse?" asks Robert Greenwald, founder and president of Brave New Films. While his videos have been viewed 50 million times now by progressive activists, Greenwald wants to see more organizing, more outreach, more movement-building from the left.Robert Greenwald, Funding the Arts, and Primary Victories

September 15, 2010The other day on the show, Melissa Harris-Lacewell suggested media "need to be covering the left as much as we cover, with anxiety, the right.” Anxiety reached a fever pitch Tuesday night with the Tea Party primary victory for Christine O'Donnell, anti-masturbation crusader, in Delaware's Senate race. The New York Times breathlessly headlines “G.O.P. Insurgents Win in Del. and N.Y.” and goes on for several paragraphs without even mentioning Democratic primaries, let alone noting that there were some insurgent victories there as well.
