GRITtv with Laura Flanders is proud to announce the launch of its new investigative project - GRITtv Digs. Seeking to illuminate issues and stories that go unreported by mainstream press, GRITtv Digs will be collaborating with some of today's top documentarians and filmmakers. Coming up this fall:

-- The Loaded Chamber - A series of muckraking video exposés on the most powerful lobbying force in Washington: the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. This piece will demonstrate how the Chamber’s head, Tom Donohue, changed it from a centrist trade group into an election-buying behemoth that ruthlessly pushes the interests of corporate CEOs, at the expense of small businesses, shareholders, and the vast majority of Americans.

-- The Abortion Conspiracies - The right wing continues to ratchet up its campaign aimed at limiting abortion while at the same time attempting to break into Obama’s voting base. This July, the “Pro Life Freedom bus rides” took off from Birmingham, Alabama, continuing a campaign begun with the posting of billboards proclaiming, “Black children are an endangered species” and making the spurious claim that being “pro-life” is the same as being “pro civil rights.” GRITtv will profile women of color engaged in the struggle for reproductive justice past and present, and investigate the back story of the Right’s campaign and its leaders.
