Strikes can be difficult for the workers involved if they drag on, but strikes like these are empowering for working people- especially when short, and likewise are humbling for the wealthy people who are often the most affected aside from the striking workers themselves. It’s small wonder the building owners capitulated and took the defeat in the face of 32BJ. They knew they couldn’t win and would only make the union stronger with a loss later on.
